Project Completed by Versa Drain, Inc.
Location: US-1 Jupiter, FL 33477
On Friday, July 24th, 2023, Versa Drain, Inc. completed a project to replace a concrete grease trap on US-1 in Jupiter, FL.
At the client’s request, Versa Drain assessed the grease traps at a local strip mall and found that one of the traps had sustained significant damage to the baffle wall and bottom of the tank, requiring a replacement. Versa Drain worked closely with the client’s permit expeditors and Versa Drain’s engineering firm to prepare and submit the necessary documents to obtain approved plans and permits from the Town of Jupiter building department and Loxahatchee River District.
The Waste Management for the town had strict requirements for the grease traps they allowed to be installed. Versa Drain replaced the grease trap with a 1250-gallon grease Interceptor manufactured by Oldcastle Infrastructure, with U.S. Foundry manhole covers to meet the district’s specifications. The base section of the grease trap alone weighed 10,979 lbs, requiring heavy equipment to unload, move, and install. The Building department required a minimum density of 94% road base for asphalt. Our team utilized an excavatable fill and high compaction rock to achieve this with little difficulty. After the asphalt was poured, we passed our final inspection, and another grease interceptor installation was completed.
Our local roots are in Jupiter, Florida, and the friendly, knowledgeable nature of the Building Department Inspectors have always made our interactions a pleasure.
